Nisipeanu remains in Dortmund lead after 3 rounds Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu remains in the lead of the Dortmund tournament after 3 rounds with 2.5/3. He was worse at various points against Hou Yifan but drew in the end.
Arkadij Naiditsch got a huge advantage against Wesley So after a series of weak moves from move 21 from So and brought home the full point.
Vladimir Kramnik sacrificed a pawn for a big advantage against Ian Nepomniachtchi but let most of this go by first time control. However Nepomniachtchi went wrong in a rare ending and lost.
Fabiano Caruana played a Modern against Georg Meier and was busted at one stage but the situation remained sharp and after a number of changes in evaluation eventually took home the full point.
