Fabiano Caruana won the 43rd Dortmund Sparkassen Chess-Meeting after winning a sharp Evans Gambit as black against Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu who needed a win to take the tournament himself. Caruana scored 5.5/7 including winning his final 5 games.
Wesley So caught Nisipeanu on 4 points after a marathon win against Vladimir Kramnik in a Berlin Defence.
Naiditch-Meier and Hou Yifan-Nepomniachtchi were both drawn.
