The Olympiad got off to an interesting start on day one with the usual mix of surprises and big wins. I spent the day sorting out TWIC's coverage and the names of the players. Hopefully much better coverage during the round tomorrow and improving throughout the early rounds. I will hopefully have time for a more detailed round one report later. There is a download of the games from Round one of the men's and women's events this is by no means the finished article.

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov enjoying himself. He had good news today. A supporter will take over in Kalmykia. So investigations into his 17 year reign are unlikely. Photo © 2010 Albran.
