The second half of Alex Baburin’s online auction No 42 is on this week - bidding will start on Wednesday 19th and finish on Thursday 20th. This auction features chess memorabilia, including autographs of Petrosian, Spassky and Fischer. There will be tournament books, game collections and reference books on sale. The first part of this auction took place a week ago. It included some very rare books – like the first edition of the Philidor (London 1749), which fetched €3,499.20, the Selenus (Leipzig 1616) which went for €3,000 and a rare book on chess variants, which fetched €3,500. There were also rare magazines and books on chess composition.
