Alexander Morozevich dominated the Governor's Cup in Saratov, Russia 7th-20th October 2011. Morozevich scored 8.5/11 enough for him to return to the top 10 in the November rating list in a couple of weeks. Evgeny Tomashevsky also had an excellent result scoring 7pts. Peter Leko won just one game plus a default against Nikita Vitiugov (who went down with some form of severe lurgy - bronchitis, laryngitis, fever etc) but was also undefeated on 6.5pts. Alexei Shirov drew all his games in a field generally in the shadow of the winner.
