The China YanCheng GM Match took place Wed 2nd Jul to Sun 6th Jul 2025. Wei Yi played Levon Aronian in four classical games followed by four rapid games on the final day. Wei Yi won the match, the classical games counted double the rapid games. Wei Yi won the classical 2.5-1.5 and after winning the first two rapid games he had already secured the match and the remaining two were not played.
