Alongside the Baku Open was a three day Battle of the Champions event which took place Mon 28th Apr to Wed 30th Apr 2025. Rauf Mamedov beat Rustam Kasimdzhanov 4-2 in the rapid but lost 6-4 in the blitz. Gunay Mammadzada beat Antoaneta Stefanova 3.5-2.5 in the rapid and they tied the bltiz 5-5.
