The 9th Vugar Gashimov Memorial took place 8th to 11th December 2023. Aydin Suleymanli was the surprise winner of the rapid with 5.5/9. Richard Rapport edged out Santosh Vidit on tie-break after both scored 12/18 in the blitz. Vidit won the combined standings by half a point from Erigaisi.
