The 66th Russian Championship Super Final took place in Nizhny Novgorod 5th to 14th October 2013. Kramnik, Svidler, Karjakin, Andreikin, Nepomniachtchi, Vitiugov etc. Alongside was the 63rd Russian Women's Championship. Peter Svidler won the 2013 Russian Superfinal after beating Ian Nepomniachtchi 1.5-0.5 in a rapid tie-break. Svidler drew his final game and Nepomniachtchi was worse against Kramnik both needing a win to catch Svidler. Kramnik over-pressed and lost. This is Svidler 7th Russian Championship title 1994, 1995, 1997, 2003, 2008, 2011 and 2013. Rashid Nezhmetdinov won 5 Russian Championships, Mikhail Botvinnik 6 Soviet titles (which mostly replaced the title 1920-1991) [although now I see there is the Absolute Soviet Championships of 1941 which might bump his total to 7] and Mikhail Tal also 6 although some of those were shared. So Svidler now holds the record alone. Valentina Gunina won the women's title with 7/9 half a point clear of Alexandra Kosteniuk. Games and results.
