Teimour Radjabov looked to try and make something of a small edge from a Bf4 Queen's Gambit against Magnus Carlsen. However Carlsen found a nice tactical shot in 23...Qg5 which sacrificed a piece after which he could either recover the piece with equality or, as he did, give perpetual check. Hikaru Nakamura drew a tricky game against Sergey Karjakin in Queen's Indian where white couldn't make anything of his space advantage and eventually allowed a draw by perpetual check. Tail-enders Vassily Ivanchuk and Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu probably want the event to end now and although they played quite an interesting opening they drew by repetition on move 24.
