49th Biel Chess Festival 2016

The 49th Biel Chess Festival takes place 23rd July to 3rd August. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave beat Peter Svidler 3-1 in a four game match in the main event. Vachier-Lagrave won the initial rapid match 2.5-1.5. There were two Junior matches alongside Benjamin Bok beat Nico Georgiadis 5-1 and Fracesco Rambaldi beat Noel Studer 3.5-2.5 (both over 6 games). The main Open tournament was won by Sam Shankland.
