The 38th Leon Chess tournament took place Fri 4th Jul to Sun 6th Jul 2025. Four game rapid matches followed by blitz tie-breaks if necessary. Viswanathan Anand beat youngster Faustino Oro but only after a tie-break. Le Quang Liem beat Jaime Santos Latasa in the second semifinal and then beat Anand 3-1 in the final.
