The 35th Leon Chess tournament took place 8th to 10th July. Boris Gelfand beat Viswanthan Anand 2-0 in a blitz tie-break after their rapid final was drawn 2-2. Jaime Santos Latasa and Andrey Esipenko lost in the semi-finals.
