The 15th Unive Tournament took place 14th-22nd October 2011. The Crown Group took place 16th-22nd Oct Vladimir Kramnik dominating with a 4.5/6 performance. He won all his games with white and drew all of them with black. Anish Giri finished on 3/6 in 2nd place alone. In the open Sergei Tiviakov took first place on tie-break from Robin van Kampen and Sipke Ernst after all scored 7/9. The final round saw a real turn round in the leadership with both players on 6.5 losing. Key final round results: Tiviakov (6) 1-0 Lenderman (6.5), Nyzhnyk (6.5) 0-1 Ernst (6) and Van Kampen (6) 1-0 Haslinger (6). Peelen draw Brandenburg was a marathon 7 hour draw and the final game to finish.
Opening ceremony for Unive Crown Group 2011 (Opening Ceremony)
The opening ceremony for the Unive Crown Group took place on Saturday 15th July 2011. Vladimir Kramnik is the top seed in an exciting group with Anish Giri, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Judit Polgar. 6 Rounds. Round 1 Sunday 13:00 UK time (14:00 CET) pairings: Vachier-Lagrave vs. Polgar and Kramnik vs. Giri.
