The top 10 of the FIDE Rating list for October remains almost exactly the same with just small gains and losses for some leading players from the Olympiad. Carlsen is still number 1 with his unchanged rating of 2843. Gata Kamsky gained 9 points to go to 11, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov gained 19 points to move to 14. Radoslaw Wojtaszek gained 20 points, David Navara 31 and Ivan Cheparinov 21.
