The Women's World Chess Championship match took place in Shanghai and Chongqing July 5th to 24th 2023. Defending Champion Ju Wenjun faced challenger Lei Tingjie in a 12 game match.
Ju Wenjun won in a fitting finale in game 12 to win 6.5-5.5. This was a sharp fluctuating struggle that was settled in the run up to the first time control on move 40. Lei Tingjie will look back at missed opportunities in this match both earlier on and in the final game.
