Carlsen takes half point lead into final round of Sinquefield Cup

Magnus Carlsen easily held Hikaru Nakamura with the black pieces in a Berlin Ruy Lopez in the 5th round of the Sinquefield Cup the game was agreed drawn by repetition on move 32. Levon Aronian repeated his Bf4 experiment against Kamsky's Leningrad Dutch and took some risks grabbing a rather hot h-pawn but in the end a bishops of opposite colours ending was reached which was totally drawn.

Magnus Carlsen faces Levon Aronian with white in the final round, his closest challenger Hikaru Nakamura has black against tail-ender Gata Kamsky. If any players are tied tomorrow there will be a play-off for the cup. Carlsen takes half point lead into final round of Sinquefield Cup
