Vassily Ivanchuk continued his rich form by winning the Pivdenny Bank Chess Cup. The Canadian Open and the Taiyuan Tournament are just a couple of the other events also about to start.
Hope you enjoy this issue.

There was an IM tournament in Antwerp 30th June - 8th July 2007. Evgenij Miroshnichenko won the event with 7.5/9.
Valery Maes reports: "Yesterday finished a tournament in Antwerp (30/6 - 08/07) sponsored bij Inventi nv (consultancy) to give some players from Belgium and the Netherlands a chance to try for an IM-norm. The Dutchman De Jong scored his fourth norm in a row while local player Stefan Docx failed only by one half point. In the sixth round he surprisingly beat top-grandmaster Evgenij Miroshnichenko what made his confrontation with De Jong in the last round a real fight for first place. But the GM had no problems to draw with White."
