My thanks to Dr Csaba Bognar, Sinisa Joksic, Harun Taner, Thomas Henrich, Albert Vasse, Eldar Mukhametov, Goran Urosevic, Rolf Sander, Laszlo Nagy, Miklos Orso, Robert Bellin, Malcolm Pein, Bill Armstrong, Erik van den Doel, Hans-Walter Schmitt, Lou Caruana, Pierre Becker and everyone else who helped with the issue.
Vladimir Kramnik beat Peter Leko in a worthy rather than tremendously exciting match. Kramnik however I believe is getting back to being close to his best which is a big relief after years of underperformance due to illness. Ivan Cheparinov was the clear winner in Malmo with a 7/9 performance winning him the event by a point and a half clear of Jan Timman (whose 5.5 was his best result for a while), Tiger Hillarp Persson and Emanuel Berg. Magnus Carlsen did almost exactly the same thing to the Gausdal GM field finishing on 7 a point and a half clear of three players.
Hope you enjoy this issue.

The Kaupthing Bank tournaments took place 4th-9th April 2007 just before the Reykjavik International. Normunds Miezis won the GM group and Robert Bellin the IM section.
In what's always a tricky decision as to whether to go with the FIDE list or the official site I've gone for the name Robert Hardarson rather than Robert Lagermann as he is in the FIDE list. Gunnarsson - Kveinys was clearly wrong at the end, I've put a version that makes more sense but isn't necessarily right.

This is a response to Mr Kutin's response to my open letter.
I have to admit that it was too early to put the blame on ECU and for this I appologize. Having said that, the case is by no means closed. The fact that we were not forced to stay in the IBIS hotel doesn't make any difference.
