My thanks to Adam Raoof, Anton Gubanov, Club Kasparov and RusChess, Alain Talon, José Mariano Acosta, Leontxo García, Hrannar Baldursson, Maximiliano Alvarez, Willy Iclicki, Michael Gosselin and all those who helped with this issue.
A couple of days after the Christmas period is not an ideal time to be writing a magazine so this week is a quick dash through the events. Next week will see the start of many of the New Year Chess tournaments and we should have a feast of chess. I've enjoyed the many replies to the poll of your favourite chess player of the Millenium, if you have sent your top five you can do so until next Friday. I hope everyone has an excellent New Year's celebration and Y2K permitting I'll be back for the first issue of the year 2000.
Hope you enjoy this issue
