LEUVEN, Belgium, 3 October 2011 - Your Next Move -, the annual chess and business event, is proud to announce that chess grandmasters Garry Kasparov and Nigel Short will do battle once again, in a blitz match, 18 years after their World title contest. The match is part of Your Next Move’s 5th anniversary celebrations.

The contest will begin in the early evening of Sunday 9 October 2011. There will be 8 blitz games in which the players have just a few minutes to make their moves. High-level blitz produces fast and exciting games, a format that will fascinate everyone. The games can be viewed in the auditorium or on a 3D TV screen. The event will also be live streamed on the Internet via and Genna Sosonko, a former Soviet grandmaster and Dutch international, will commentate live.

The organizers of this unique chess event comment: "For the fifth anniversary of Your Next Move we wanted to do something different that really promotes chess. We are grateful that both Garry and Nigel have accepted our invitation to play against each other. We are looking forward to some great games."

Members of the media can attend the event in Leuven, Belgium. There will opportunities to interview Garry Kasparov and Nigel Short after the games.

18.30h - 18.45h: Introduction of chess grandmasters, explanation of the match

19.00h: Start of blitz chess between Garry Kasparov en Nigel Short

19.15h: Buffet dinner for guests and media. The games can be viewed in the auditorium or on a 3D TV screen

22.00h: End of blitz chess, comments from Garry Kasparov and Nigel Short before live audience, interviews.

About Your Next Move

Your Next Move is the initiative of three entrepreneurs: Inge Geerdens (CVWarehouse), Jan Callewaert (Option) and Gabriel Fehervari (Alfacam).
