The Nutcracker Match of the Generations took place in Moscow Mon 17th Dec to Sat 22nd Dec 2018. Two matches, a Kings vs Princes Match (experienced vs up and coming players). Kings: Gelfand, Najer, Leko and Short vs Paravyan, Sarana, Esipenko, and Lomasov. Also a Youth Boys vs Girls Match: Boys: Murzin, Makoveev, Safin and Grebnev. vs Girs: Obolentseva, Dimitrova, Goltseva and Bulatova.

1 Princes 32-32 Kings (Princes had the better tie-break because they won the Classical section)
1 Boys 35.5: 28.5 Girls (Boys narrowly lost the Classical section but won big in the rapid)
