There were just two decisive games in round 3 of the FIDE Grand Prix in Tashkent. Alexander Morozevich retained his lead with a relatively comfortable draw with black against Boris Gelfand. Shakhriyar Mamedyarov kept up nagging pressure until he extracted a decisive error from Peter Svidler. Fabiano Caruana was very happy with his position right from early on (11.c5) against Gata Kamsky and the American eventually crumbled. Sergey Karjakin was lucky to escape with a draw against Wang Hao (who missed the tricky 68...Kh4). Karjakin was very unhappy with his play reserving particular scorn for 19.Nc6 but he was poor later on too and just glad to get away with the drawn. Dominguez was another player unhappy with his play and Kasimdzhanov was also disappointed not to do better than draw.
