Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting 2013 (2)

Wang Hao and Adams win in Dortmund Round 2

Wang Hao defeated Daniel Fridman on the white side of a Petroff Defence. Wang broke through on the run up to first time control and 37.Kb7 proved to be a fatal mistake.

Michael Adams won a pawn on the white side of a Berlin Defence and then converted it after a lengthy grind against Dmitry Andreikin who rather surprisingly has started with 0/2.

Georg Meier was very solid in drawing with black in the Queen's Gambit against Igor Khenkin and indeed may have had the better of it at one point.

Leko-Caruana and Naiditsch-Kramnik were both Ruy Lopez's where black equalised quite quickly and draws followed.

Round 2 Standings: Kramnik, Meier, Caruana, Adams 1.5/2pts, Khenkin, Leko, Wang Hao 1pt, Fridman, Naiditsch 0.5pts, Andreikin 0pts.

Round 3 pairings: Meier-Leko, Fridman-Naiditsch, Andreikin-Wang, Caruana-Adams, Kramnik-Khenkin.
