Anish Giri leads the Dutch Championship 2012 with a very impressive 4.5/5. After being held in Round 3 by Dmitri Reinderman whose Sicilian worked out very well Giri took apart Erwin L'Ami in just 32 moves. Giri got the two bishops and a small edge and then L'Ami really went wrong and his position collapsed very quickly. L'Ami had moved into 2nd place with a win against Sipke Ernst in Round 4 (Swinkels beat Smeets in the other decisive game of Round 3). In Round 4 Ivan Sokolov joined L'Ami and Van Kampen on 3/5 after beating a struggling Jan Smeets (last place 1/5) when the latter went wrong late on in the ending. The standings in the ACP Golden Classic are bit hard to work out but Gata Kamsky will beat Krishnan Sasikiran, adjournment or not, and join Ivanchuk (rest day) on 3 points.
