19th Sigeman & Co 2011 (3)

Giri holds Shirov in round of draws in Malmo

All three games were drawn in the third round of the 19th Sigeman & Co tournament in Malmo. Alexei Shirov played the Bishop's Opening against Anish Giri and the game simplified to an ending where he had an extra d-pawn. He didn't seem to make the best of this and the game was drawn on move 40. Hans Tikkanen drew a Queen's Gambit Exchange Variation against Wesley So in 30 moves. Nils Grandelius and Jonny Hector were the last to finish drawing in 101 moves.
